Boston United gained the first win of their pre-season campaign with a leisurely victory against local opponents Boston Town. Played in bright summer sunshine and soaring temperatures, Boston United used a virtually full strength side to outclass their lower league rivals.

United team: Marriott, Parslow (Ryan 46), Albrighton, Ellender, Canoville, Farell, Clarke (Holland 46), Greaves (Talbot 46), Galbraith (Joachim 46), Elding (Tait 46), Green (Forbes 85).
